Dan Cathy gave a brief devotional from Philippians, Chapter 4. In this chapter the Apostle Paul is exhorting us to rejoice and not to worry. Dan read: "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all." Dan said sometimes this verse had puzzled him, until he reminded himself "gentleness is not weakness, but controlled strength." "The Lord is at hand." Dan continued, by saying: "If we are conscious of the Lord being near at all times, just think of what a difference that would make in our attitudes and actions!" "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God." Dan stated that this verse is important, because it reminds us that "worry is a responsibility that God never intended us to have." As the verse reads, present all your petitions and worries to God. "And the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Remember that prayer is "the vitamin for the attitude." Dan thanked everyone for attending and ended the meeting with a prayer.
