Minutes, August 12, 2002
John McGinn, Vice President of the MooCow Bikers, opened the meeting at 7:50 PM on August 12, 2002. This was our biggest group meeting ever with over seventy-five people attending. Twelve new members signed up. John and Randy Adams gave us an update on the 2002 Ride N Fire Harley Davidson (HD) motorcycle raffle! The group has sold 297 tickets and with less then two weeks to go we need get out and sell, sell, sell. Last weekend Nolan Robinson, Mark Trail, and others set the bike up at a Chick-fil-A in Alpharetta, Georgia and were able to sell 15 tickets. So lets put our heads together and get those remaining tickets sold. Thanks to Randy the raffle bike is a new 2003 (HD 100th Anniversary model) gunmedal blue in color. You can go to the website (www.moocowbikers.org) and register for the raffle. The event will be Saturday, August 24, 2002, 1200 noon, at the Chick-fil-A (CFA) Headquarters, Buffington Road, College Park. Maps and directions will be published at a later date. This is a reverse auction so the last ticket drawn wins the bike. Volunteers to help set-up the event need to report no later than 11 AM on Saturday, August 24.

Dan indicated they were currently over $300,000 in debt for utilities, building requirements, etc. Our funds and donations are greatly needed. More details will follow, however, we have limited housing (approximately 36 people can be accommodated right now). The housing and food is provided by CFA and attendees provide a like donation to B&F.
John encouraged everyone to check out the website for safety information on riding in groups, hand signals, etc. http://www.moocowbikers.org/handsignals.htm
Dan gave us an update on his health situation and spoke to us briefly about remembering the Jabez prayer and allowing God to "expand your boundaries." Remember that Jesus Christ died not just for you and me, but for everyone we meet on a daily basis. The whole purpose of MooCow Bikers is to expand our friendships and in so doing expand His message. John gave a good Scripture reading from Proverbs 8, Verse 10 through 11. He spoke of the benefits of reading scripture daily, gaining God's wisdom, and expanding our own personal territory to the glory of God. Your life will be greatly enriched by studying His words. These specific verses remind us that we should choose God's instructions "instead of silver….or rather than gold" for there is nothing compared to the Wisdom of God.
