The August meeting of the Herd was well attended and certainly well received. The food and fellowship is always good. The honorable Randy Adams runs a well-oiled machine with the precision necessary to keep motor heads running in the same direction.
The Head Cow was in attendance and gave a report on the annual CFA Kyle Petty Ride. This years' ride was shorter, ran from North to South, and allowed the riders more time to socialize.
A report on Iron Butt/ Bun-Burner rides was given. With safety first being of utmost importance, mention was made of the necessity of being sure to stop and sleep for a few minutes after riding for almost 24 straight hours.
The Saturday ride was canceled.
David Riner gave a great message. You know that a man is following the desire to please God and spread His word when he works a regular job (if you can call selling Harleys a "real" job), then leads a congregation full time too. We are blessed to have David bring the messages regularly.
We found out that the annual Victory Junction fund raising date is November 2nd. As Randy said, "Take advantage of your connections to get donations of "things" that will bring a good dollar value for the Victory Junction Gang."
We sold all the Moo Cow Biker shirts. I do understand that Cathy Gailey still has some shirts.
Elections for the 2008 year will be here before you know it. If you have a desire to be a leader of the Herd, please contact John McGinn.
