David Riner opened with Prayer.
Leon West and his daughter provided a slide presentation depicting John’s time spent as Vice Cow over the last five plus years. The presentation continued through the dining portion of the meeting. Thanks to Leon and his daughter for this fine presentation.
Opening Comments and Presentations
John McGinn provided opening comments followed by comments from our newly elected Vice Cow, Randy Adams. Randy began his leadership term by defining his roll as leading as a servant. Randy has already exhibited this quality and will provide a fine example for us all to follow. Additionally, Randy quoted our purpose from the by-laws, which is to function as a group that reaches out to others. There will be additional committees and people needed to assist in the leadership of our growing herd.
Dan Cathy spoke briefly and expressed his appreciation for John’s leadership over the previous five plus years. Larry Hiscox, Randy Adams, Leon West, Jeff Pritchett, and myself spoke about times we had spent with John and his influence on our lives and the herd. John was presented a plaque in appreciation for his time of service. All who have known and had the pleasure of riding and working with John appreciate and will always remember his contribution to the Moo Cow Bikers.
Innermission Presentation
Gary Eller presented an automated slide show of a Saturday spent with Roy Whitney and Innermission. Stalker and Gerry Reid, who are not members of The Moo Cow Bikers, came and gave a testimony on how their working with Roy on Thanksgiving Day had a positive effect on their lives. We know that we are reaching out to others when we have non-members come to a meeting to share with the Herd on a ministry of a member. Roy and his wife Karen provide meals and clothing each week to many homeless people in the inner city of Atlanta at their expense.
Final Comments from the Vice Cow, John McGinn
An evening to remember!
Thanks to Larry, Randy, Leon, Gary, Jeff, and Dan for your kind words (especially in front of Cheryl and Katie) on the past five plus years of serving as The Vice Cow. Those thoughts are appreciated and welcomed. Once again, I have been the blessed one to be able to serve. The joy received in serving bordered, at times, on not being a humble servant! It has been a joy.
The plaque is beautiful and will be displayed in the conference room for all to see. Dan thanks you for the gift certificate. I just had a chance to view the slides, with music, that Leon put together. I think that "humbling" is a good word to realize the time spent on putting the pictures with the music. All are a pleasant surprise.
Thanks to each of you for welcoming Cheryl, my family, and I into your lives. We have been blessed.
Now, we move on to another phase of Moo Cow Bikers. Randy will need your support to rise the club to greater heights. Hopefully, you will join me in assisting Randy to spring this Herd to pure blood status.
Merry Christmas to all! Keep Christ as your leader and "all is well, all is well, with my soul."
The Vice Cow
Devotional: David Riner
David's word from God came, in part, from the book of Isaiah. David reviewed the words of God as provided by Isaiah, encouraging each of us to examine our lives in regards to servanthood. What a blessing David; we have been blessed by your messages this past year. God has used you in bringing His word to the Herd.
2005 Finance Report – provided by Jeff Pritchett
A couple of observations: Giving to Blood n Fire has decreased dramatically. We started the year in the $900/meeting range and are now in the $300 range. Attendance is not off that much, just per person amounts. We have some people who still give way above the norm each month. Based on this and attendance, we have a fair number who give way below or not at all. I know our primary purpose is not to raise funds for Blood n Fire and, with all that has happened there as well as the economy around us, the decrease is not unexpected. We need to re-evaluate and look to see if our fund-raising here needs some attention. The half- &-half money and the auction money that is being received as cash is being held in reserve ($487 at 12/05) to go towards the Challenged Child Ride. The Victory Junction checks are only for cash received and sent through the MooCow bikers' account. Total money raised for Victory Junction and sent was approximately $7,800.00.
In summary, we end the year with $2,295 un-designated dues and $487 in donations.
Closing
