

Minutes, February 9, 2004
John McGinn, Vice Cow, welcomed everyone and opened the meeting at 7:10 PM. Over 80 people were present with many guests attending this meeting.
John reminded everyone about the membership dues, and to see Jeff Pritchett at the end of the meeting to get your photo included in the MooCow membership roster.
Chris Franklin was in attendance with his family and gave us a brief B&F update. Right now they have over 180 people (with only 150 beds) staying at the facilities. Chris said they did a recap of the number of meals from January 2003 to January 2004, and with our help over 155 thousand people were fed. Chris encouraged everyone to come by and visit at B&F and see what our donations help provide.
Official MooCow rides for riding year 2004 have not been published. The officers have some ride suggestions and which will be listed on the website. There will be many great opportunities in the coming warm months look for emails and other announcements. If you have any suggested ride "ideas", provide the information to our new Ride Captain, Leon West
The next meeting dates for CalendarYear 2004 are: March 8, April 12, May 10, and June 14, and July 12 (for the next six months).

a. Membership: : John Pekarskae is taking membership dues for 2004 right now. Dues are only $15.00.
b. Budget/Funds: No budget update was given at this meeting.
Rider Training: Leon indicated that all the training material was in for the Motorcycle Safety Foundation training course (riding with groups) that we will be conducting. More information on dates and locations to follow.
John McGinn indicated the group is co-sponsor for a Poker Run in April to support the "Challenged Child and Friends, Inc." More information will follow later on this event. Note: officers present at the January 20, 2004 meeting voted to donate $4,000.00 from MooCow funds in support of this charity.
Auction: Several items were auctioned off this meeting, including a valuable MooCow hat signed by Richard and Kyle Petty. John encouraged everyone to donate to this fund-raising event every meeting. All proceeds go to B&F. Approximately $200.00 was raised. Additionally, Randy Adams organized a 50/50 drawing. Tickets went for $1.00 or six for $5.00. The lucky winner took home $111.00 with B&F benefiting from the other $111.00 raised.
Ride Captains are reminded they are responsible for a safety brief before each scheduled group ride. Everyone should check out the website for safety information on riding in groups, hand signals, etc. http://www.moocowbikers.org/handsignals.htm
John McGinn closed the meeting with a reading from Mathew 10:32-33. John encouraged us to always acknowledge Christ in what we do and say. Remember that it is a privilege to know Christ, keep this in mind at your workplace, and around family and friends. John closed in prayer reminding us to honor God, and to stand up and count the blessings He has given us.
