Welcome

John McGinn, Vice Cow, opened the June meeting at 7:15 PM. The Sergeant-at-Arms collected quarters from those forgetful members who left their name badge at home. Several new individuals were present and this pushed our meeting total to over 75 this month.

Blood and Fire (B&F) Update

There was no representative from B&F at this meeting, but Mark Trail gave us a great update on how the new kitchen is working. It is now feeding as many as 700 people each day. Currently there are about 80 people in the sanctuary. Mark went by there yesterday and B&F now has showers in the restrooms for the residents. This is a great improvement in the quality of life for the shelter residents. At the next monthly meeting or two we should consider collecting personal hygiene products for B&F for residents use (soap, toothpaste, shampoo, etc).

Next Calendar Ride/Events Update

This weekend we will have another great ride to the North Georgia Mountains and Greybeard's Restaurant. The ride captain will be Wayne Farr. This is our Flag Day ride so come dressed in patriotic colors. Be sure your scooter has a flag! Ride leaves CFA in Fayetteville 9:00 AM sharp. Email Wayne at ewfarr@Comcast.net for details.

Mike and Cynthia Davis proposed an evening ride to take place on July 12th. This will be a beautiful ride through our Georgia back roads to Graham, Alabama on the Little Tallapoosa River (approximately one hour from Peachtree City). The ride will end at the Butler Mills Restaurant. The restaurant is a great place in an old gristmill that severs a wonderful seafood buffet (all for under $15.00+tip). The ride will depart Peachtree City CFA sharply at 4:00 PM. More details will follow in the July meeting. Please email Mike at davismh@bellsouth.net if you plan on attending (reservations need to be made). Four-wheel vehicles are welcome to come alone too! Rain or shine ride goes.

Few more riding opportunities checkout:

If you have any suggested ride "ideas" provide the information to one of the officers or the Vice Cow at jcmcginn01@aol.com. Mark Trail remains our chief Ride Captain and primary organizer for rides. Give any info to Mark at mtrail@dch.state.ga.us.

Next meeting dates for Calendar Year 2003 are July 14, August 11, September 8, October 13, November 10, and December 8.

New Agenda Items

Safety Brief

No safety brief was presented.

Ride Captains are reminded they are responsible for a safety brief before each scheduled group ride. Everyone should check out the website for safety information on riding in groups, hand signals, etc. http://www.moocowbikers.org/handsignals.htm

President’s Last Word

The Vice Cow ended this month's meeting with a great scripture reading from Ecclesiastes, chapter 9, verse 10: "whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom." What a great reminder on how to live your daily life! John says, "approach every task with energy and joy, doing all things to the greater glory of God."

Dennis adjourned the meeting with a final prayer at 8:15 PM.
