John McGinn, Vice President of the MooCow Bikers, opened the meeting at 7:45 PM on May 13, 2002. Forty-eight people were present and six new visitors were introduced.
Randy Adams and Frank James gave an update on the 2002 Ride N Fire Harley Davidson (HD) motorcycle raffle, our Blood N Fire Charity Event. We have a great bike picked out, a 2002 Pearl White HD Fat Boy. You can go to the website (www.moocowbikers.org) and register for the raffle or obtain a ticket from many of our members. Tickets will be $100.00 each with the benefits going to Blood N Fire. Only 400 tickets will be sold. The event will be Saturday, August 24, 2002, 1200 noon, at the Chick-fil-A Headquarters, Buffington Road, College Park. Food will be free and catered by The Varsity and there will be lots of door prizes. The raffle will be a "reverse" drawing with the last ticket draw as the winner. Ticket holders do not have to be present to win! The value of the HD Fatboy is approximately $17,500; the winner is responsible for all taxes and tag cost. Those interested can go by Clayton County HD, Jonesboro Road, Jonesboro, and take a look at the bike. Larry Hiscox asked that everyone consider donating some item of value as door prizes for the reverse raffle (t-shirts, gift certificates, etc).
Chris Franklin was present with other B&F members and offered a wonderful prayer for Dan's recovery from his recent accident. Everyone is encouraged to remember Dan and his family in their prayers.
- Route 66 Ride. Ron Todd gave a great presentation on his Route 66 Ride out West. The ride took 19 days, covering 16 states and over 6,000 miles. Ron and a friend left for St. Louis, Missouri on April 22, and saw several great western sites to include the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, and the wonderful deserts of New Mexico. Ron made the entire trip on his 2001 Harley Softail. He indicated that he's ready to go again if anyone is interested!

John asked that we all remember Dan and his family in our prayers. He reminded us what St. Paul says in 2 Corinthians, Chapter 1: "Praise be to God…..the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God." Dan right now is using his suffering to witness to others, let us remember these words, and follow his example. If we have an attitude of thanksgiving when we go through trails, troubles and the valley of the shadows, remembering the comfort God has given us, we can also be a witness for His greatness.
