We named the group while riding back from Biketoberfest in the fall of 2000. Since Dan Cathy looks for every opportunity to encourage people to "Eat mor Chikin!", an association with Chick-fil-A was a natural, providing instant identity. Chick-fil-A's award winning marketing campaign featuring the cows provided a light hearted point of connection. Due to the brand association, bikers are asked to reflect a positive image for the brand that is in keeping with the Chick-fil-A Corporate Purpose: "To Glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us; To have a positive impact on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A."
