Minutes, November 8, 2004
Jeff Pritchett, opened the meeting at 7:04 p.m. with a prayer, thanking God for the great food we had just eaten, and asking a blessing on each person present. John McGinn, Vice Cow, asked guests and new members to introduce themselves. There were four new members all testifying to the variety in our group by the different bikes they ride, from Harley, to Honda, to Suzuki. There were 61 members and guests at the meeting.
No B&F update was given.
Charlie Sorrell gave an update of the proposed golf tournament. Right now it looks like it will be in the Spring and during a weekday. Look for an email or more information announcing this function.
John gave a Rabbits Ride report, saying they recently rode to Pine Mountain, Georgia, ate lunch, and rode home. John asked that we keep Larry Hiscox and family in our prayers. Larry's dad passed away Sunday. He had recently ridden with the group on the day of the delayed Kyle Petty ride. He was 83 years old and left all who met him with a smile on their face.
Official MooCow rides for this year are published on the website. Some highlights are listed below. If you have any suggested ride "ideas", provide the information to our Ride Captain, Leon West at mochrome@netzero.com.

a. Membership: The 2005 dues are due no later than January's meeting and are still a low $15.00 per person. John Pekarske indicated that a good portion of the membership never paid 2004 dues, and encouraged everyone to pay-up their dues before the new year.
a. Officer Elections: John McGinn reminded us that new officer elections are upon us again. If you have a desire to serve please email Dan Cathy at dan.cathy@chick-fil-a.com.
b. Budget/Funds: John Pekarske summarized the year-to-date budget report (see attached copy). This year so far we have donated over $8,900.00 to Blood & Fire and collected $1,925.00 in dues. Currently there is $4,004.24 in the checking account.
John McGinn auctioned off three nice motorcycle helmets (two JVC and a full face Shoei). The auction raised another $100.00 for B&F. Anyone wishing to donate items to the monthly auction should let John or Wayne Farr know.
The 50/50 drawing winner won $80.00. Unfortunately we didn't get his name!
All official MooCow merchandise is now at John's office in Peachtree City. Come by and see John or email at jcmcginn01@aol.com.
Linda Barrett gave us an update on her health status. Linda will be going into surgery on Thursday. She'll be in the hospital for several days and then home recuperating. Linda asked that we come by and visit her when she returns home to Cherry Lane in Peachtree City. Please remember to keep Linda and Steve in your prayers.
John says don't forget officer elections in December (see Administrative Announcements above).
Ride Captains are reminded they are responsible for a safety brief before each scheduled group ride. Everyone should check out the website for safety information on riding in groups, hand signals, etc. http://www.moocowbikers.org/handsignals.htm
John McGinn's scripture tonight was taken from Mark, Chapter 2, and vs 13-17. In these verses Jesus is reminding us that we should be about discipleship to sinners and not just those who are already Believers. John said we should always be conscious of the image we project as Christians and MooCow Bikers, but instead of being just "Holy Huddlers"…..get out there in the world, be the face of Jesus, and seek others!
The meeting ended with Nelson giving a final prayer and thoughts for the Barrett and Hiscox families.
